General Information
The AS365N Dauphin is one of Eurocopter’s (originally Aerospatiale ) most successful designs and has found widespread use in corporate world.


The AS-365N is much improved development of SA-365C Dauphin, (illustrated under Aerospatiale ). Till January 1990 the AS-365 models were designated SA-365, and in 1992 Aerospatiale’s helicopter division was merged into Eurocopter. The AS-365N introduced more powerful Ariel 1C turbo shafts, enlarged tail surfaces, main rotor rotor mast fairing, revised transmission and engine cowling with a retractable tricycle undercarriage. The AS-365N first flew in mid 1979, and the deliveries foe the same began somewhere early 1982.


Deliveries of improved AS-365N commenced in 1990, it’s features included upgraded Ariel 1C2 engines, increased maximum takeoff weight and improved gearbox and to give it a better look Eurocopter also gave it a redesigned cabin doors, also revised interior.


The improved EC-155 (AS-365N-4) development was announced at the 1997 Paris Air show. It features twin Ariel 2Cs equipped with FADEC, a five blade spheriflex main rotor and a 40% larger main cabin, accomplished with bulged doors. First flight was on June 17 1997, with French and German certification awarded in December 1998.

Capacity
Two Pilots and maximum seating for 11 passengers but standard passenger seating for six is available in India. EC-155’s standard seating is for 14 including one or two pilots.
